High School Success Seminar on Aug 14th

  1. How to look at the big picture and how highschool connects with college and ultimately your career
  2. How to select courses and improve your grades
  3. How to improve studying skills, memory and study habits
  4. How to do well on the SATS and standardized tests
  5. How to develop people skills and create your own brand
  6. How to prepare for and complete the college application process

WHAT MAKES THIS SEMINAR UNIQUE? This seminar is not a boring lecture with facts and rules. Its designed for a younger audience and aims to motivate kids on not only the importance of doing well in highschool but also tips and strategies on how to succeed. It also incorporates islamic concepts and puts highschool into the larger picture of our role in society as Muslims.

WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR? Ideally for students grades 7th-10th (AND their parents) but any grade will benefit. Especially parents with younger kids who want to start early (its NEVER too early to prepare1)

WHAT WILL THIS SEMINAR COVER? This will cover the most important aspects of succeeding in highschool (grades, SAT, course selection, extracurricular activities, volunteering, awards, scholarships, letter of recommendations, the college application and much more) as well as 15 important concepts that will help students succeed in highschool. We will go over what colleges look for when they accept students and how to prepare for and complete the application process.

I’tikaf will start from Maghrib from Tuesday July 7th 2015

– Tafseer of Soorah Yousuf from 12:30 am to 1:30 am by Imam Asif Hirani
– Recitation by Shaikh Fares Al Baghdadi from 2:00 am to 3:00 am
– Sahoor at MCNJ.

NOTE: If you can’t do complete I’tikaf, at least make an intention of spending nights.

Alhamdulillah the Central Jersey Hijri Calendar Committee has decided that 1st of Ramadan will insha’Allah be on Thursday, 18th June 2015

May Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala enable us to take benefit of this blessed month.

Taraveeh Prayers
Inshallah Shaikh Fares (Graduate from Al-Azhar and have Ijazah in 10 Quranic recitations) will be leading Taraveeh prayers and will be joined by Hafiz Usman 

We will have community Iftars all 7 days a week during Ramadan. MCNJ will arrange for these meals with community sponsorship. Please contact Br. Shahzeb, Br. Anwar or Br. Zahid for sponsoring iftar.

Insha’Allah we will arrange babysitting free of cost for children between the ages of 2-10.


Zakah & Fitra

  •    Please give your Fitrah & Zakah as early as possible during Ramadan
  •    Fitrah is a minimum of $10 per person and it should be given for every member of the family.


  • The parking at MCNJ will be reserved for older, women and children on first come first basis.
  • If you are coming from to MCNJ via GSP park at the bank or Dr. Latif’s parking lots
  • If you are coming via I-287 or Rt1, park at Cyktor Building lot on Walsh Avenue
  • Musallees praying 8 rakat’s of Taraweeh, please park at lots other than MCNJ
